We’re investing into HGV customers with a £1.3m Peterborough expansion
We’re excited to announce the completion of a £1.3 million infrastructure project at Peterborough Services, which will significantly expand HGV parking capacity to better serve the needs of freight drivers on the A1(M) corridor.
Delivered in partnership with Breheny Civil Engineering, the project has added 72 new HGV bays to the rear of the site, helping to alleviate pressure on existing facilities and improve access for commercial vehicles.
The expansion is part of our commitment to enhance driver welfare and support the UK’s logistics sector by investing in high-quality, accessible infrastructure.
Peterborough joins a growing list of Extra sites where commercial vehicle parking has been upgraded in collaboration with Breheny, including Beaconsfield, Baldock, Cambridge and Cobham Services, with an additional 200 HGV spaces having been introduced through their work together.
Tom Dobson, our CEO, said: “At Extra, we recognise the vital role HGV drivers play in keeping the country moving, and we’re committed to investing in infrastructure that supports their welfare and operational needs. Whether it’s expanding parking capacity or preparing for the future of electric freight, we’re focused on delivering service areas that meet the evolving demands of the logistics sector.”
Andrew Fleming, joint Managing Director at Breheny Civil Engineering, said: “This project is a great example of collaborative working and efficient delivery. We’re pleased to continue our relationship with Extra MSA, helping to deliver infrastructure that supports the transport sector and improves the day-to-day experience for HGV drivers.”
