Today, we’re announcing our national charity partnership with Air Ambulances UK (AAUK), the national organisation championing and supporting the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities.
This landmark partnership aims to raise £250,000 to support lifesaving missions across the UK.
The UK’s 21 air ambulance charities deliver advanced, pre-hospital care to people experiencing life-threatening injury and illness, and AAUK supports this through vital funding, awareness-raising, advocacy, and sector-wide collaboration. Most UK air ambulance missions are funded almost entirely by donations, with each mission costing on average of £4,165. We’re stepping forward to help ensure these vital services can continue responding quickly and effectively across the UK.
From today, our customers services will be invited to make donations, both on one-off visits as well as on organised fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Extra MSA teams will also organise a range of activities internally to engage employees and local networks, helping raise awareness and support for the air ambulance services serving their local areas.
Tom Dobson, our CEO, said: ” We’re proud to go the Extra mile to help fundraise towards lifesaving services that make a real difference every day. That’s why we chose to partner with Air Ambulances UK and through the support of our teams, partners, and customers, we aim to raise £250,000 this year and shine a spotlight on the incredible work of air ambulance charities. We look forward to working closely together and ensure that critical care reaches those who need it most.”
Mark Heaven, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Air Ambulances UK, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Extra MSA as a national partner. Their commitment to going the Extra mile for the lifesaving air ambulance charities is exactly the kind of support that helps keep them flying and critical care teams ready to respond. This partnership has the power to save lives, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at Extra MSA for backing our mission.”
Air ambulance charities carry out an average of 134 missions every day — each made possible by donations from the public, supporters, and partners. Our involvement will not only help fund this lifesaving care but will also raise vital awareness of the challenges these charities face in delivering emergency response and critical care services across the UK.
