We’re running for a lifesaving cause!

Yesterday we saw over 40 employees from our team as well as McDonald’s, Air Ambulances UK, Ahead Partnership, Social, and Ken Booth & Co, swap their uniforms for running shoes as they took part in a charity 5km run at Leeds Skelton Lake Services, raising an impressive £860 for our charity partner Air Ambulances UK (AAUK).

Taking place on Leeds Skelton Lake’s scenic 2.5km nature trail, participants completed two laps of the route, with runners and walkers alike embracing the challenge at their own pace. The event brought colleagues together for an afternoon of fitness, teamwork and fundraising, with every participant crossing the finish line to support a lifesaving cause.

The fundraiser forms part of our national charity partnership with Air Ambulances UK, which was launched earlier this year to support the vital work carried out by the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities. Through fundraising activities taking place across the sites, we aim to raise money to help ensure these critical emergency services can continue delivering advanced pre-hospital care to people facing life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

Air ambulance charities collectively carry out an average of 134 missions every day, with most services relying almost entirely on charitable donations to remain operational. Each mission costs an average of £4,165, making fundraising initiatives such as this year’s run an important contribution towards championing and strengthening lifesaving air ambulance services across the country.
