Our food is simply Too Good to Go!
Food waste is a huge issue in our society. Despite 733 million people going hungry every day, 40% of all food is being wasted*.
This is a social and an environmental issue; food waste contributes to 10% of all global greenhouse gas emissions. The economic impact of this has been considerable – with costs associated with global food waste totaling around £850bn.*
We want to change this, and we’re holding ourselves accountable with a clear goal for improvement. Our aim is to achieve 100% in the zero-waste index by recycling or reusing 75% of operational waste by 2030.
One way that we have begun to reduce our waste is through collaboration with our tenant brands and food surplus service Too Good to Go, which helps businesses unlock revenue from their surplus stock, help consumers enjoy good food at great value for money, and empower users and partners to help protect the environment.
Since partnering with Too Good to Go, we have been able to save 70,810 meals, with the most-saved surprise bags being from brands like LEON, Upper Crust Bakery and Warrens Bakery. The impact of this goes even further, with the equivalent of C02 emissions saved totaling 144 flights from London to New York, land use the size of 15,861 parking spaces, and 57,356,100 liters of water!
