To help keep others safe wearing a face covering is mandatory in all our amenity buildings, drive thru's and fuel filling stations.

You may remove your face covering whilst dining in, in any of our brand outlets and food court seating areas.

Children under the age of 11 are exempt and there may be other exemption reasons within government guidelines .

Sanitizer Stations and Hand Washing

Throughout our buildings and at each entrance & exit you fill find hand sanitizer stations.

Please make sure you wash your hands regularly and adhere to any other guidance put in place within our washrooms and digital media screens

With enhanced cleaning in areas such as high contact points, internal & external seating and washrooms.




Test and Trace

We have introduced a QR code or SMS test system to support the NHS Test and Trace.

If you stay with us for 15 minutes or more please register your attendance with us.

Data is storage is GDPR compliant & stored for 21 days and then deleted. This data is not shared with anyone other than NHS Test & Trace.

You will also see other safety measures

Extra Motorway Service Areas will

remain open 24/7 for all fuels, parking, EV charging, toilets, showers &

hot/cold food & beverage.

In line with recent guidance, to keep

you safe when you visit us, look after our employees & brand partner

employees, we are following government guidelines and asking all customers

who are able, to please wear face coverings. 

Food and drink is available 24 hours,

but you may find the availability of various brands different to

normal due to impacts on staffing levels with our or our tenant brand

partners employees having to self-isolate following test and trace.

Protective screens may remain in place at points across a range of

areas where distancing is difficult

You can log your visit via Test and Trace and you’ll find the QR

codes to access this at each service are entrances. You can also log

your visit via the NHS Test & Trace App

Increased hygiene measures are in place on our sites, with hand

sanitizer stands in place at all locations, and dedicated cleaning teams

working on table areas 24/7. 

Social distancing and queue systems may be in place during periods

to help manage the flow of people on location and encourage social

distancing in busier areas and within tenant brand partners. 

Our internal and external seating areas are open with tables set a

comfortable distance apart of 1m or more.

We may ask you to adhere to guidelines or manage people in busy

times to help keep our employees & customers safe. Please be kind

& respect our employees. They are doing their best in difficult


We have award winning washrooms available 24/7, please can we ask

you to regularly wash your hands or use the sanitizers provided.

Our Tenant Brand Partners

Where distancing isn’t possible within tenant brand partners,

screens may be in place. 

Increased hygiene measures are in place with all our tenant brand

partners, with hand sanitizer stands in place at most locations, and

dedicated cleaning teams working on table areas throughout their trading


Our tenant brand partners encouraging the use of contactless/card

payments where possible.

A number if tenant brand partners have introduced Order &

Collect so that you can have your order ready and waiting for you, to

minimise your time on site.

Our tenant brand partners work closely with us but are ultimately

responsible for their own risk assessment and working practices. We are

happy to pass on contact information where required

Motorway Services Areas have a legal

exemption that allows us to continue to provide indoor seating for travellers

under The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No.4)

Regulations 2020. Part 4 of the regulations details the restrictions on the

service of food and drink and allows for the MSA exemption at regulation 15,

paragraph 5 (b). 

This exemption enables us to fulfil the

legal obligations placed on us by the Department for Transport to provide

travellers with the opportunity to rest and safely take a break during their

journeys; and also to enable HGV drivers to take their statutory breaks. The

exemption has been agreed between the Department for Transport and the Health

& Safety Executive and we are following all the applicable safety advice.

It should go without saying, that if

you have any symptoms of COVID-19, including but not limited to, a high

temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell

or taste, we kindly ask that you do not visit any Extra motorway service areas

and follow government guidance around testing & isolation.
