EXTRA MSA Group has signed up to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme supporting people with disabilities that may not be so obvious to the casual observer. Many people with a disability use or carry something – whether that’s a wheelchair, guide dog, hearing aid or white cane – that visibly indicates what the disability might be. But other conditions, such as autism, dementia, mental health issues or learning difficulties, are not so obvious. Under the Hidden Disability Sunflower scheme, people can choose to wear a lanyard bearing a sunflower logo as a subtle way of letting others know that they may require additional support, assistance or a bit more time.
How will you make sure I’m safe?
All of our staff wear masks or visors. If you need us to we will wear gloves as well, so that you feel comfortable when we assist you.
Equally, if you struggle to understand us with a mask on, please let a staff member know, so that we can find other ways to communicate with you.
How do I ask for help
If you need any help, please contact us on 01494 675 876. If you’re on site, please find a member of staff wearing the Extra uniform. We understand that wearing a mask or visor can make it difficult for you to lip read. If this is the case, please let us know so that we can use a pen and paper to communicate.
We have showers and accessible toilets at all locations. We also have Changing Places facilities at Cambridge, Baldock, Beaconsfield, Cobham, Leeds and soon to be Peterborough.
